Edition-132 of Delicacies. As usual, max 5 articles that I found interesting and worth re-reading. Handpicked, no robots. Minimalism in curation. Enjoy!

If you can’t get enough of these and want more than 5 articles, you can hang on to the firehose, the extended version of Petervan’s Delicacies in REVUE. Subscribe here: https://www.getrevue.co/profile/petervan

  1. Just a simple remark about when we reach singularity and one super artificial intelligence appears .If it would exist how can it avoid that some stupid human pulls the plug and destroys it ? The host where it resides needs power.Would it have made backups and why can’t that stupid human not destroy those backups ? Distributed singletons could be the answer but they need networks who again need power and humans committing their money to run it and would US China and Russia agree to have one and the same singleton clone ? . A singleton will be a odd creature sitting behind glass somewhere in a museum which will provide its power if budget permits , some scientist will consult it once and a while but after some time and some big mistaken predictions destroying its reputation, it will be collecting dust and eventually we will find some pictures of it in history books.
